Assessing the current app was my first step.  I created a content diagram in order to understand what we were dealing with in terms of content and code quality — how much, can it be reused as is, what format, etc.

The creative director designed a wireframe for phase I and II to experiment with the user flow to help estimate the project scope.  The art director then focused on designing the visual layouts.

After reading through the impress.js documentation and working with the art director on ux, we agreed that each slide should be saved as an SVG file.  Not only would this speed up revisions, it would scale and be responsive in the browser.
